General Questions
Vinlid is an online service that provides digital vehicle information reports based on VIN codes. Reports are generated and delivered electronically in PDF format or via online access.
A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique 17-character code assigned to every vehicle. It contains information about the manufacturer, vehicle specifications, and serves as the vehicle's fingerprint. You can find the VIN on the dashboard (visible through windshield), driver's side door jamb, or in the vehicle's registration documents.
Our basic VIN decoder is free and provides vehicle specifications. Korean reports are just $2.29 and US reports are $3.49, with detailed vehicle information.
No. Reports are not official documents and are provided for informational purposes only. Vinlid is not a government agency or official registrar.
This is a one-time purchase (one-time payment). There are no subscriptions or automatic charges. You pay once for a specific VIN report.
VIN Reports
Our reports include: mileage verification from Korean inspection records, technical inspection results and vehicle condition, auction photos, US title and salvage history (via NMVTIS), recall and safety information (via NHTSA), and vehicle specifications decoded from VIN.
Reports are generated based on: aggregated data, open sources, and third-party data providers. The service is informational in nature.
No. We do not guarantee absolute accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of information in reports. The user independently makes decisions based on the information received. We recommend using our reports as one of several tools when evaluating a vehicle.
Data availability depends on the vehicle's age, region, and recorded history. Older vehicles may have limited digital records. Not all incidents are reported to databases. This doesn't mean the vehicle has no history — just that it wasn't recorded in available sources.
You can check most vehicles with a valid 17-character VIN. Some older vehicles (pre-1981) may have shorter VINs and limited data availability. If a VIN is invalid, our system will notify you before purchase.
